Independent judgement, published methodology.
TechnoCasual is independently researched and edited by its founder. The aim is simple: identify clothing that combines useful technical performance with the restraint to work in normal life.

What the editor is trying to solve
Most clothing advice separates smart casual, outdoor clothing and technical apparel into different worlds. TechnoCasual looks at the overlap: trousers that move easily but still work at dinner, rainwear that protects without looking like hiking equipment, and fabrics that make travel and everyday care easier without turning the wearer into a walking specification sheet.
The editorial preference is for understated design, useful material choices and garments that earn repeat wear. Seagale-style form-and-function is a useful centre of gravity, but no brand owns the category.
How recommendations are made
Where a guide is based on published information, the evidence comes from manufacturer specifications, fabric composition, construction details, care guidance and the intended use of the garment. TechnoCasual does not describe that as hands-on testing.
When a product is physically tested, the article will say so explicitly. The TC Index remains a separate classification system: it measures category fit, not whether a product is good value or whether the editor personally likes it.
Commercial independence
Retailer or affiliate relationships do not buy a TC Index score or a place in a recommendation. If a commercial relationship is introduced, it will be disclosed. The editorial objective is to preserve a useful distinction between classification, recommendation and paid promotion.
