Technical clothing for everyday life.
TechnoCasual is an independent editorial site about the space between smart casual and techwear: useful performance fabrics and functional design in clothes that remain easy to wear every day.
What TechnoCasual is
We focus on clothing for work, travel and everyday life: technical trousers that still look smart, clean rain shells, merino and performance fabrics, utility overshirts, practical bags, easier-care shirts and products that earn their place in a smaller wardrobe.
We borrow the useful parts of techwear — weather resistance, movement, durability, purposeful pockets and textile technology — without requiring the all-black tactical look. Read our full definition of TechnoCasual.
We are not trying to cover every fashion trend. The aim is simpler: help readers buy fewer, better and more useful clothes.
Who is behind TechnoCasual?
TechnoCasual is independently researched and edited by its founder rather than by an anonymous content team. The editorial point of view is deliberately narrow: practical menswear and unisex clothing that balances technical function with normal everyday wearability.
How we assess products
Recommendations are considered against six recurring criteria: style, comfort, weather performance, travel usefulness, care and value. A high price is not a virtue. A premium product should demonstrate a practical advantage over a cheaper alternative.
At launch, some guides are based on published product specifications, material information and retailer documentation rather than long-term hands-on testing. Where that is the case, we say so. We do not present specification-based research as a physical product test.
The TC Index
The TC Index is a separate category-fit system. It scores how TechnoCasual a garment is on a 0–100 scale using Technical Function (T), Everyday Wearability (C) and Design Integration (I). It is not a quality or value rating and can be assigned from published product evidence without pretending a garment has been hands-on tested.
Editorial independence
Retailers and brands do not get to approve our conclusions. Some links may generate an affiliate commission, but that does not change the price paid by the reader and does not determine whether a product is recommended.
Sponsored content, if TechnoCasual ever publishes it, will be labelled clearly.
Corrections
If we get a factual detail wrong, we want to fix it. Product specifications, prices and availability can change quickly, so readers should always confirm current details with the retailer or manufacturer before buying.
